This includes direct coordination and oversight of technical and functional resources, some reporting directly to this position, and others indirectly supporting the project. The Technical Director will be responsible for all aspects of system testing, developing multiple plans and directly overseeing the rollout and completion; this includes directly coordinating all Chancellor's Office (CO) internal testing teams as well as developing and delivering testing schematics and timelines for campuses to use, while also ensuring campuses fully understand the plans, and deliver upon them in the project timeline as agreed upon.

The CHRS Technical Director will also be responsible for the Implementation Team, which will work closely with campus leadership, functional, and technical teams to successfully adopt and implement CHRS.

Under general direction from the Executive Director, CHRS, the CHRS Technical Director has the primary responsibility to oversee and provide guidance and direction for all technology related to CHRS (a multi-work stream program impacting 22 CSU campuses and the Chancellor's Office). The Technical Director is responsible for developing and ensuring that all parties adhere to the development methodologies and timelines, and for setting the technology strategic direction while understanding the resource constraints and policy implications of working within the California State University system.

This position will require extensive knowledge and expertise in Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM technology and higher education business process design. The incumbent is responsible not only for escalating risks and concerns but also for delivering options and solutions, each with its own list of pros and cons, as appropriate.

The Technical Director will be responsible for developing and guiding the long-term strategy and post-implementation support for the CSU Human Resources ERP system, including simplifying and adopting delivered vendor technologies and reducing technical debt and customizations. This will require expert knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 functionalities.

In addition, this role will be required to assess and deliver technologies that will enable various shared service support models as they evolve.

This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
