Job Description
About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development teams, and other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED provides a platform for managing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. This strong and highly qualified team (mostly MS/PhD) adds strength in developing Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. Our world class contributions lead to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and gross margin improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead a worldwide team of project managers in managing projects in Operations Engineering (OED) and Operations (OPS) and engineers in developing solutions/tools to support Operations Engineering and Operations. Closely collaborate with all teams within OED team and Operations team as well as other teams like ISD, SW&D and Product Line BUs to provide timely execution of projects and solutions necessary to achieve the goals of the Operations/OED organization. The new hire is expected to:
- Under the team leader’s directive, execute strategic plan for the team in supporting OED and Operations organization in project management and developing solutions/tools.
- Maintain skills to ensure competence to perform agreed upon responsibilities.
- Align with manager’s goals and initiatives to meet agreed-upon KPIs.
- Work independently with little supervision.
Project Management Office (PMO):
- Support and assist in the establishment of a project management process, defining standards and requirements in which all projects managed by the Operations Engineering PMO organization will adhere to.
- Support process definition, documentation, management, and continual improvement to align with key stakeholders’ needs and requirements.
- Ensure that all projects managed comply with the standards and requirements established.
- Support and implement a set of standardized process and tools to track progress, execution and metrics of the projects (eg usage of issue tracking tools like JIRA, requirements management, Gantt chart visualization and Analytics/Metrics Reporting).
- Assignment of Project Managers for key projects.
- Oversee and monitor project progress and execution, managing risk, and minimizing escalations.
Project Management:
- Understand requirements priority and drive scoping and planning including interdependencies, staffing constraints and schedule optimization.
- Define, develop, and execute plans of record (project scope), including schedules, deliverables, risk assessment, project resourcing, monitoring, budget as per the defined project management process.
- Drive projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with all key stakeholders across functions on technical matters.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and powers of influence.
- Exercise creativity to innovate new processes and procedures to achieve established objectives.
- Manage project metrics and identify when they deviate significantly from Plan of Record.
- Escalate issues in a timely manner and propose and collaborate on corrective actions.
Tools Development & Solutions:
- Oversee development of customized tools specific to OED and Operations.
- Implement required tools to support PMO operations as needed.
