Overview:
The Senior Manager, Merchandising Diesel is responsible for the product strategy for the North America market. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to bring product strategies, visions, and innovation to life. This role is responsible for aligning product strategies into one, clear, concise vision. Category ownership includes all styles from aspirational to full price, and e-commerce. Ownership of planning for Diesel as it relates to assortment aesthetic direction, style / skus counts, regional exclusives, segmentation, pricing, fabrication etc. This role will ensure all products accurately flow from sketch creation to purchase order issue, on time, on brand, and profitably.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure global brand strategy is effectively translated across local product assortments.
- Influence the product development process, for local market/product needs with HQ to ensure product designs takes into proper consideration North America commercial needs (i.e., USA specific product issues including sizing requirements and geographically tailored tastes, specific market product trends)
- Proactively solicit product and brand updates from HQ to ensure brand is appropriately representing brand strategy and product “story”.
- Generate pre-season and in-season open to buys for seasonal and carry over product.
- Ensure global product initiatives are clearly communicated and translated to North America region.
- Collaborate and build strong cross functional relationships with key business partners HQ and locally.
- Act as key business partner to stake holders to identify risks and opportunities for North America region.
- Advise stake holders on alignment with business strategy and global brand direction.
- Provide cross-channel competitive research and analysis to identify key trends, inform business strategies, understand shifts in market direction, & leverage commercial opportunities for the Brand.
- Establish, communicate, and drive merchandise performance measurement standards.
- Advise on retail assortments across all product categories and support local pricing process ensuring local pricing structure is in line with HQ.
- Key executive leader working in partnership with VP and Brand leads to align on strategic business initiatives.
- Manage and develop Merchandising team.
- Monitoring sales and identifying any losses or stock wastage
- Getting to know the client base and understanding their motivation and sales drivers.
- Reviewing client feedback to forecast sales trends and seasonal stock demand.
- Researching and monitoring industry trends and consumer behavior to anticipate demand and changes in buying patterns.
- Making predictions based on sales data, customer feedback and market trends.
- Assessing the effectiveness of different product displays and store layouts on sales figures.
