Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is hiring Caregivers, Home Health Aides (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Personal Care Aides (PCA), Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults in Merrillville, Lake County, Porter County, and nearby communities.

Caregiver Job Responsibilities

Caregivers will:

•  Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, ambulation, and transfers 
•  Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support 
•  Perform light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and organization 
•  Assist with safe mobility using a walker or wheelchair 
•  Provide medication reminders only 
•  Observe and report any changes in client condition 
•  Use a mobile app for clock in, clock out, and care documentation 
•  Follow infection control, safety procedures, and agency policies 
•  Maintain confidentiality and professional standards 

Caregiver Requirements

•  High school diploma or GED required 
•  Preferred 1 year experience as Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, DSP, or similar role 
•  Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance 
•  Ability to pass a national background check 
•  CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain before starting) 
•  Dependable, compassionate, professional, and patient 
•  Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication 

Position Details

•  Pay: Hourly, Non-Exempt 
•  Location: Merrillville and surrounding Lake and Porter County communities 
•  Reports To: Staffing Coordinator
