Lean Engineer Internship

Dometic has an exciting summer internships within our Operations team. The internship is located in our Litchfield, Illinois facility which is our main distribution center that manages the packaging and distribution of aftermarket marine and OPE industrial products.   The Operations department is responsible for incoming, packaging/assembly, distribution, and shipping of our aftermarket products.  

The Lean Engineering Intern will help lead efficiency improvement projects. In this role, they will utilize their experience in researching opportunities for us to improve our processes in the warehouse and production cells. This individual will assist in the rollout of the Dometic Production System, lead 1 Kaizen or 6S Events throughout the summer, complete labor and/or cost-savings analyses for upcoming projects, and research options for improvements in various departments in the warehouses.

Responsibilities:

• Redesign GEMBA process within operations
• Value Stream Mapping
• Complete and Present Cost Benefit and Labor-Saving Analyses of Projects and Events (Kaizen and 6S)
• Develop Project Plans
• Work with Programs such as: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
• Communicate Status, Issues, Ideas to All Project Owners and Affected Parties
• Train Employees on Dometic Production System 

 

Qualifications:  

• Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Basic Understanding of Cost-Benefit Analysis
• Advanced Mathematical & Statistical Reasoning
• Data Visualization
• Knowledge or Experience of Warehouse Operations
• Ability to Effectively Communicate in Both Written and Verbal Forms
• Analytical Mindset
