- The AML Financial Crime Risk Analyst I role is responsible for executing Quality Assurance (QA) reviews as part of the Financial Crime Quality Assurance (FCRA) QA program that will independently assess the operating effectiveness of the Bank's Transaction Monitoring framework. The analyst will perform QA assessments and identify whether investigative outcomes by the US Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) are in line with departmental procedures and appropriate case dispositions with rationale adequately documented. The analyst will apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge of AML concepts and typologies when conducting assessments. Analysts will also provide an evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information and risk-based assessment in complicated and unique situations.
Depth & Scope:
- Provides specialized analysis, non-standard reporting, and operational support to GAML
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of a range of product and services, processes, procedures, systems and concepts within their own and related areas of specialty
- Recommends problem resolution for issues that have been escalated, and/or escalates to appropriate level where further clarity or interpretation is required
- Completes work within specifically defined parameters with guidance / direction from management as necessary
- Requires solid knowledge of the GAML function and interaction points with other related areas as well as regulatory issues / requirements for jurisdictions supported
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree preferred
- 2+ years relevant experience

- CAMS Certification
Customer Accountabilities:
- Delivers analytical support in oversight, advisory services and control function to Manager or Senior Manager
- Provides AML research, evaluation, operational, reporting and/or analytical support in oversight, advisory services and control function to business (GAML) partners, in a timely manner
- Co-ordinates requests to and from business (GAML) partners
- Assists in the preparation of summaries, communications, reports and presentations for management, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Analyzes data, as required
- Co-ordinates requests from GAML partners
- Co-ordinates tracking and reporting of GAML function initiatives and programs
Shareholder Accountabilities:
- Prioritizes and manages own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
- Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
- Protects the interests of the organization – identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary
- Conducts reporting and meaningful analysis using results to draw conclusions; makes recommendations of the effectiveness of AML programs and policies
- Acquires and applies general knowledge in the AML discipline, provides assistance and to other AML partners
- Identifies, recommends and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the AML discipline
- Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
