About the role

The Applications Analyst III supervises and provides technical guidance to the staff in the development of specifications for new or revised systems.  This position is a senior level developer/analyst position responsible for acquiring in-depth knowledge of Digital platforms and solutions.  The role will work independently in completing project tasks and leading the execution of the following tasks as part of systems implementation: building system components, testing, documentation of workflows and other project information, implementation support and maintenance of software. 

  1. Successfully achieve certification in a primary Epic application assigned as determined by Epic Course Catalog.
  2. Has full technical knowledge of applications analysis and has supervisory duties of instructing, assigning, directing and checking the work of the other Applications Analysts.    

  3. Assists in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the section.    

  4. May work with client management to identify and specify the complex business requirements and processes, and in the application design, testing and implementation process (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).  

  5. Coordinates the activities of the section with other IT sections (e.g., database, telecommunications, operations, technical support, etc.).  

  6. Develops new features and user interfaces from wireframe models.  Ensures the best performance and user experience of the application
  7. Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process. 

  8. Works within a technical architecture of interoperable systems, collaborating with other technology teams and vendors, to apply best application architecture designs. 

  9. May act as a project leader.

  10. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Five years of solid, diverse work experience in IT
  • Experience with the Epic software or other clinical or business systems
  • Experience working independently and demonstrated accountability for groups of tasks or processes 
  • Familiarity with third-party libraries and API integrations

 

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $99,200.00 - $148,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
