Technical Solutions Architect

Reports To:
Director, Business Intelligence & Enterprise Performance Management

Location:
This role requires onsite presence in our Dallas location 1-2 times per month.

Job Title/High-Level Position Summary: As the Technical Solutions Lead you are a skilled technologist with diverse background that includes data integration, debugging, troubleshooting, design and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.  You thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines. You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You are highly motivated and have a passion for leading best practices and driving efficiencies and automation in design.  You have a proven track record for managing and leading the technical aspects of a projects and leading small teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and guide Data Engineers to deliver scalable solutions using cloud platforms including AWS, Fivetran, DBT, and Snowflake
• Design, architect and oversight of security for all applications in BI footprint
• Design and architect solutions for reporting, data collection and transformation, system administration taking cost and performance into consideration
• Plan and execute secure, good practice data integration strategies and approaches aligning with SOX
• Assist in establishing and documenting technical solutions methodology processes and practices
• Ensure compliance to SOX processes and procedures with all architecture, design & implementation activities
• Working closely with BI Leadership, drive initiatives for data integrity, governance, and lineage
• Work closely with team to document, manage, maintain, and publish technology and data footprints
• Size and scope development needs for both operational and project initiatives
• Lead, manage and guide technical project teams on all technical design, architecture and components
• Ensure adherence to standards and best practices, and facilitate technology/solution checkpoints
• Hands on development acquiring, ingestion, and processing data from multiple sources and systems using AWS, DBT, Fivetran, and Snowflake data platforms
• Work with analytics team to understand data requirements

Minimum Basic Qualifications:
 

• 10+ years’ experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions
• 3+ years’ experience working with Snowflake
• 2+ years experience managing database security administration, preferably Snowflake
• 3+ years’ data engineering experience
• 3+ years’ managing technical projects
• 3+ years’ experience in detailed technical analysis and preparation of estimates
• 3+ years working experience with an enterprise resource planning application such as Oracle E-Business Suite
• Proven experience in the deployment of scalable solutions
• Strong background in troubleshooting systems and data related issues
• Experience & willingness to lead & mentor team members
• Ability and desire to work in different capacities depending on the business need – developer, data modeler, solutions design and analyst roles
• Experience with AWS services and compute resources, Fivetran, DBT, and/or Snowflake
• Experience with Python and shell scripting
• Experience with SOX Audit processes & procedures
