Job Title: Accounting Supervisor - General Ledger Department: Accounting
Reporting Relationship: Accounting – Assistant Manager FLSA Status: Exempt

General Responsibilities
To perform advanced professional-level accounting duties under general supervision, including reconciling accounts, conducting special accounting studies, and forecasting and preparing other specialized internal and external accounting reports.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise 2-4 employees in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, investments, and long-term debt.
- Review and prepare bank reconciliations and cash flow summaries.
- Submit cash flow summaries and journals for the production of a construction run, general ledger, trial balance, income statement, and capital budget report.
- Verify and prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements.
- Ensure that books are closed monthly on a timely basis so that financial reports are available to the Board and senior management.
- Track and report monthly progress on the Board’s HUB spending.
- Reconcile selected subsidiary ledger accounts to General Ledger monthly.
- Works with accounts payable in the authorization and approval of vendor payment by conducting a check and review of the biweekly check proposal and related invoices.
- Responsible for reviewing and recording all accounts receivable transactions monthly.
- Responsible for reviewing and recording all investment transactions monthly.
- Responsible for reviewing and recording all debt transactions monthly.
- Responsible for managing the cash handling workflow function within SAP in a daily preventative manner.
- Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish Accounting Department goals.
- May be required to work past normal/regular hours to meet departmental deadlines.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Ensure all organizational policies and guidelines are adhered to and administered correctly, including the HR Management Guide, Employee Handbook, reviewing and approving timesheets, and expense reports, complying with applicable employment laws, purchasing guidelines, bid law, etc.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

This includes, but is not limited to, participating in improvement teams, recommending and implementing improvement ideas, and participating in training and other activities to keep up to date on processes, information, etc.
- Champion and ensure the administration of safe work practices and operations.
- Maintain and protect sensitive and private information by keeping employee records confidential in accordance with HIPAA, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Perform all work safely in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Comply with all safety and health standards and guidelines issued by management.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Experience
Experience:
(8) years of accounting experience required.
- General ledger journal entries
- Reconciliations and budget line items
- Cash and accounts receivable
- Investments and Long-Term debt
Need analytical skills. Experience with Unclaimed Property preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with fixed assets using project costs preferred. Experience with payroll preferred. SAP or other ERP system experience preferred.
Three (3) years of supervisory-related experience (e.g., a team leader role, project management experience, etc.). For internal candidates, the successful completion of the following BWW leadership development programs may be counted towards the required supervisory experience:
