The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Sr/Lead Security Design Specialist to join the team in Seattle, WA; North Charleston, SC; Everett, WA; Long Beach, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Seal Beach, CA. (Prefer West Coast - but will entertain anyone near one of Boeing's facilities throughout the US)

Hybrid Role (mostly remote but will occasionally need to go into a Boeing facility)

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with extensive expertise in network security products and tools who can design, develop, integrate, and maintain security technical controls in a variety of IT environments and systems coupled with a strong understanding of advanced networking protocols. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing network security best practices, you will provide technical solutions to enforce perimeter security standards and policy compliance.  Will provide consultation to outside organizations, evaluate security posture and recommend improvements.

Proficiency in key technologies such as Security and compliance best practices, Firewalls (PaloAlto / Cisco / Juniper), F5 application load balancer and encryption standards are essential. You should have a proven track record of managing large-scale, complex network infrastructures, with the ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot these systems effectively.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical solutions to enforce security requirements and policy compliance

  • Implement and validate security controls are meeting governance standards

  • Consult with customer organizations and evaluate the security posture of emergent technologies

  • Participates in the creation and review of design data elements (threat models, data flow diagrams, requirements, etc.) along with known vulnerabilities associated with IT systems and create designs and recommendations that lower or eliminate security risk.

  • Strong communication skills to support collaboration with customers, computing architects, other IT organizations, and suppliers.

  • Comprehensive understanding of security policy compliance (DFARS/CMMC, SOX, etc.) and security frameworks (NIST CSF) and how it relates to technological implementation

  • Broad range of knowledge of network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance. End-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis.
     

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): 

  • 9+ years with Remote Access using VPN technologies.

  • 9+ years firewalls, application load balancers

  • 9+ years’ network experience with routing, security policy, access control lists

  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Experience with Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto Network.

  • Experience with F5 load balancing

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interpret logs from multiple sources and correlate events

  • Experience with Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA)

  • Multiple firewall vendors experience

  • Some coding/scripting experience (Python, Perl, PowerShell, C#)

  • Technical and/or security certification certifications

  • Understanding of security best practices, threats, and mitigating techniques

  • Strong analytical, and integration skills

  • Application/server product management experience (lifecycle management)

  • Familiarity with cloud hosted environments, containers, and dev(sec)ops

  • Understanding of operational and security requirements relates to factory and building automation (ICS, IOT)

  • Experience with communication skills and collaboration with cross functional teams
