We have an opportunity for an energetic, motivated, and self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Portsmouth, RI site.  This site offers the EH&S professional an opportunity to work in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.

What You Will Do

  • Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
  • Work with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
  • Execute initiatives, programs, reports, and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
  • Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Interact with employees of all levels, learn the tasks employees perform, and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience with identification and mitigation of EH&S hazards.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 
  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Previous experience with managing EH&S issues in a union work environment
  • Experience with presenting issues to senior leaders
  • Project management and execution skills
