The Aerospace Corporation is hiring an Undergraduate Business/Engineering xLab Intern.

The Aerospace Corporation’s Experiments Lab, xLab, develops prototypes, instruments, pathfinders and demonstration systems to address our customers’ hardest problems at the speed of need. We engage with our customers to conceptualize innovative solutions and deliver impactful products for ground and space and everything in between. This is an entry-level project management internship. We are looking for project management interns with a commitment to teamwork and a desire to learn from the ground up.

Work Model:

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Participating in interdisciplinary teams supporting the build and test of prototype systems

  • Data entry tasks for the maintenance of project metrics

  • Schedule development and maintenance for assigned projects

  • Supporting senior project managers in completing more complex tasks 

  • Creating reports and presentations in MS Word or PowerPoint

  • Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business or engineering (undeclared acceptable)

  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.

  • Freshman class standing completed by internship start date 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0  

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. 

  • Transcripts required 

How You Can Stand Out 

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: 

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • Prior experience in a leadership role (either volunteer or paid)

  • Experience in project coordination/organization

  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools such as JIRA or Confluence

  • Active security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$25.00 - $26.00 - $28.00

Pay Basis: Hourly
