Maven is looking for an experienced contract Copywriter, Member Growth Marketing & Communications to support our Copy Team. This is a 3-month full time contractor position for 40 hours per week. Ongoing need will be assessed after 3 months.

This role will be focused on helping the Copy Team communicate impactfully with our members across the entire journey—from pre-enrollment to highly-engaged Maven member.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Copy Manager, Senior Member Comms Copywriter, and our Member Comms and Member Growth Marketing Teams, using briefs provided to write compelling and on-brand copy that encourages potential members to enroll in Maven and engage with our product, taking key actions that lead to better health outcomes.

As a contract Copywriter, Member Growth & Communications at Maven, you will: 

• Conceptualize, write, and edit engaging member messaging that upholds the Maven brand voice and tone across email, push notifications, in-app modals, Slack posts, toolkits, one-pagers, and other formats as needed.
• Write short-form copy that encourages members to:
• To understand what Maven is and what’s available to them, and get them to enroll
• Continue to log in to the Maven Clinic app to take specific actions, including reading resources, signing up for virtual classes, and booking virtual appointments with our network of women’s and family health providers.
• Work iteratively on effective messaging to continuously improve performance based on A/B testing.
• Bring Maven to life through compelling subject lines, click-worthy (not click-baity) push messaging, and more
• Proof final deliverables and ensure copy is error-free.

We’re looking for you to bring:  

• 5+ years of experience in copywriting and messaging strategy
• Examples of high-performing consumer messaging campaigns (specifically email format)
• A strong understanding of digital (email, push) and traditional marketing (flyer, direct mail, short blurbs, etc.)
• Ability to work within an existing brand voice and carry it through consistently across various member messaging channels
• Ability to write engaging, effective, on-brand, grammatically correct copy
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage several requests at once
• Ability to accept and act on constructive feedback 
• Energetic, proactive, and collaborative work style
• Great to have: Healthcare, agency, or high growth startup experience

This contracted role is only open to candidates in the U.S. and will be remote.

This contracted position does not include benefits. Benefits are applicable to Maven Clinic Co., US-based, full-time employees only. For candidates in NYC, CA or CO, the salary range for this role is $40-50/hour depending on experience.
