Exciting Hiring Opportunity! – Assistant Branch Manager Transdev Service, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. Transdev is proud to offer:
- Competitive compensation package of $70,000-$78,000
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days; 9 standard and 3 floating
- Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises day-to-day operations and administrative activities by providing liaison between client and company.
- Facilitates problem solving between departments and resolves employee grievances.
- Coordinates the scheduling of dispatchers, operators, and supervisors in the Operations Department.
- Interacts with the unions representing the employees with the goal of positive interaction.
- Monitors operations and coordinates the delivery of service with the Branch Manager and Assistant General Managers.
- Ensures that service to Boston Public Schools remains on schedule and professional.
- Issues discipline.
- Assigns employee’s duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required
- A bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of passenger transport experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
- School Bus transit experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of public management and organization theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments.
- Thorough knowledge of basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation.
- Ability to analyze a variety of complex administrative problems to make sound recommendations for their solutions and to prepare working procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with labor unions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy, and possess good judgment and discretion.
- Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs. Ability to achieve competency with propretary and transit-related software.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while exceeding established goals and objectives.
- Must be detail oriented and possess effective time management skills.
- Ability to work with employees to resolve issues, to enhance their professional growth, and to ensure safety compliance.
- Travel requirement (as a percent): <10% travel between property locations and for meetings.
- Must pass a drug test, a criminal background check including fingerprinting, and other background screenings.
- Considerable use of the arms; repetitive hand-wrist motion; and much walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, lifting, balancing, and handling of materials.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- 80% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
