The Challenge
Providing the best and uninterrupted experience to our members is critical. Netflix has one of the world’s biggest cloud footprints with tens of thousands of services and applications in the cloud, millions of customer devices streaming content, and petabytes of data movement. Observability engineering provides the platform and suite of products that allows engineers at Netflix to understand how their services are behaving in real-time, detect anomalies in system health, troubleshoot and remediate problems. Our platform processes billions of data points in real-time every minute. The success of our platform and products is crucial to Netflix's success and our ability to operate the Netflix cloud.
As a member of the Observability Engineering team, your work will have a direct impact on Netflix’s reliability, engineering agility, and our customers’ happiness.

What You Will Do
- Build, improve, and optimize UI experiences that make exploring Observability data (metrics, logs, and traces) intuitive to enable efficient troubleshooting of software and infrastructure
- Write code utilizing TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and other modern JavaScript and web development technologies
- Partner with engineering teams, designers, and product managers to define and refine concepts that will enable engineers across Netflix to better observe, understand, and troubleshoot their software
- Collaborate with other Observability and Platform teams to build for long-term leverage and extensibility
- Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams through clear communication
- Take deep ownership over the problem spaces we’re all here to tackle
Who You Are
- You have a bias towards action and are comfortable navigating through ambiguous environments
- A collaborator and self-driven learner
- Have experience in designing, building, and operating scalable, user-friendly UIs
- Passionate about building platforms that can be leveraged and extended by other engineers
