A Day in the Life
A Senior Supply Chain Planner is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the supply chain processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. This role typically involves identifying potential disruptions and implementing strategies to improve supply chain performance. It requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and operations, to ensure seamless product flow from suppliers to customers. Specifically, this role will manage product life cycle management, phase in – phase out activity and product rationalization. Additionally, they may mentor junior planners and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Analyzes, develops, and implements long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals.
- Supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns.
- Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
- Lead worldwide phase in phase out continuation projects cross-functionally
- Strong partnership with key stakeholders including Regulatory, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing/Operations to understand strategy for continued product availability
- Utilize SAP/APO & Blue Yonder to ensure correct flow of demand signals through the entire value stream and ensure accuracy of build prompts at manufacturing sites
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor Degree
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with minimum 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have (Preferred): Preferred skills and education (Please Included)
- Masters degree in Supply Chain related field
- Strong, demonstrated critical capabilities (Influence, Compelling communication, Analytical, Business Acumen, Lean thinking) and stakeholder management
- 5+ years in a highly regulated industry
- Knowledge of core manufacturing and/or supply chain processes
