Planning, Budgeting and Financial Analysis Advisor, Finance (Assistant Director) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, New York, NY.
Provide finance advisor support to Service Line leadership and Finance team members. Prepare plan inputs and routine financial analysis and interpretation of financial results, report commentaries and cost analysis for a particular Business Unit or Service line. Support finance leadership in the identification of areas requiring further analysis. Be active in the financial planning process, including identifying business trends, recommending courses of action, and leading the implementation of advances in technical and software to meet changing business needs. Prepare budget templates including first level modelling of plan inputs. Advise Service Line leadership on achieving plans during the forecast process, assessing resources and deployment challenges, as well as other drivers, using historical results/trends to assess potential achievable outcomes. Develop and implement new procedures to achieve efficient and effective operation of finance-related processes.Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field and 6 years of related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field and 5 years of related work experience.
Must have 5 years of experience with how accounting, professional service or consulting firms generate and recognize revenue, measure utilization and productivity of resources, and accurately calculate the value of unbilled client.
Must have 5 years of experience with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
Must have 5 years of experience preparing and presenting accurate restatements or pro-forma analysis as business needs change.
Must have 5 years of experience with Essbase and Excel.
Must have 5 years of experience supporting financial scenario modeling for leadership, including providing recommended solutions or outcomes within a range of options.
Must have 5 years of experience determining causes of performance deviations from expectations, including profitability, inventory levels, realization, utilization, staffing levels, indirect and practice-related expense controls, and cash collections, and suggesting course correcting actions.
Must have 5 years of experience with finance-related SAP modules.
Must have 5 years of experience with financial planning for business risk, compliance, finance, or tax Managed Service offerings.
Must have 2 years of experience providing data and interpretation of financial results via oral presentations to external or internal client leadership.
Must have 2 years of experience providing guidance, directing and evaluating the work of junior financial analysts.
Travel required up to 10%, including up to 5% international travel, to serve client needs.
