12 Hour Continental – rotating schedule for entire year - Work Half the Year!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Value Stream Lead is responsible for increasing the ratio of value to non-value and eliminating waste of the overall supply chain from start to finish for a defined product family; and for ensuring the value stream produces a quality product in a safe and cost-effective manner, that meets the production schedule and cost specifications.

The Value Stream Lead will create an environment where employees feel valued, challenged and empowered by evaluating performance and potential of each employee and provide appropriate coaching.
•    Foster a clean and maintain a safe work environment, utilize JSA’s and Risk Assessment to mitigate and prevent injuries or incidents. 
•    Effectively conduct root cause and countermeasures for all incidents inside Value Stream
•    Enhance quality as well as reduce waste while working with functional leaders to drive change and minimize loss to defects and holds
•    Maintain GMP policies at all levels of the organization
•    Inform the appropriate departments of major Production issues and participate in resolution of the problem. 
•    Including working with Planning, Maintenance and Supply Chain inside the Value Stream to maintain Production efficiency and scheduled delivery
•    Develop and utilize performance goals through Performance Ownership and Daily Direction Setting that align with plant KPI’s
•    Execute data mining and evaluation pertinent to process enhancement related to Value Stream metrics
•    Ensure team is staffed properly, trained, resourced, supplied and managed to attain strategic objectives
•    Develops / Execute/Standard Work, develop SOP’s, and Work Instructions for Operations inside Value Stream
•    Execute lean tools and procedure within Value Stream atmosphere to minimize process variation
•    Actively participate and provide direction towards all process improvements inside Value Stream with R&D, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
•    Establish and execute 6s standard and audits inside Value Stream
•    Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Lean/ Six Sigma Principles utilizing root cause and counter measure tools to situational processes inside Value Stream to support Technical roles
•    May be required to work overtime as needed

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

•    A high school diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
•    Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a food environment. Prior leadership experience preferred.
•    Holds others accountable for following standards and delivering on commitments.  Follow escalation process when applicable.
•    Assesses or determines a training need for an area.  Leads effort to plan and complete training. 
•    Assess work standards, make standards available, hold teams to meet standard
•    Engage proactively with cross functional support team, leaders, and floor operators.  Coaches/Trains others to do the same. 
•    Prepares written materials and delivers oral presentations using visual aids, delivering a concise message to a wide variety of audiences.  Comfortable escalating to high level leaders.
•    Manage conflict between team members. Recognizes and resolves non-technical issues that are occurring within the Team.  Involve HR when necessary.
•    Required knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.  SharePoint, SAP, Paycor, Smartsheet.
•    Ensure job positions are adequately staffed at shift change and oversees operation of the production lines to ensure efficient production, as well as, sanitation, PM work and changeover against the schedule.  
•    Schedules and arranges for temporary employees as required for daily line staffing.  Works directly with staffing agency to fill daily line staffing.
•    Processes beginning and ending shift paperwork in conjunction with other shift lead.  Accurately completes all production paperwork and works closely with the production schedule to attain daily targets.
•    Keeps supervisor abreast of any employee issues or concerns and makes recommen
