The Regional Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading a regional team of warehouse employees through daily business activities and leads continuous improvement operation and directing multiple warehouses on a day-to-day basis.  This role ensures the success of both immediate and long-term operational goals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage operational improvement along with warehousing/distribution inventory optimization. 
  • Assisting with the development of the company’s longer-term supply chain strategy for regional warehouse locations.
  • Ensures all assigned warehouses comply with Federal, State, and Local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reductions leading action to realize improvements
  • Mentor Local Management teams
  • Analyze current network and advise on current capacity/utilization of all warehouses.
  • Implement best in class warehousing processes and practices that drive operational efficiencies.
  • Implement best practice logistics principles, policies and, processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
  • Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics processes
  • Lead a safety culture throughout department. Support all safety initiatives.
  • Lead team through your daily example, contributing to our values, our norms, our high standard of performance
  • Takes on other projects and responsibilities as assigned by Manager

 

Educational background / Work experience

  • Three or more years’ experience in warehouse management
  • Bachelor’s in supply chain management (Preferred)
  • Experience in warehouse management systems
  • Advanced Excel Skills

  • Knowledge of TSA and Customs & Border Protection regulations
  • Gateway and/or Airline ground handling experience a plus
  • Strong ability to manage and lead people (Recruitment, selection, development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning)
  • Experience in Freight Forwarding experience a plus

 

Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment with exposure to changing warehouse temperatures.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
