This internship can be remote, local to Herndon, VA, or local to Newtown Square, PA.
This position requires access to customer data; Must be a U.S. citizen. SAP NS2 does not offer Visa sponsorships for this role. All internals must have manager’s approval to transfer.
Overview
As an IT Technology Services Intern at SAP NS2, you will support the design and development of systems, applications, and services that optimize and automate business processes. Working alongside experienced technology teams and business stakeholders, you will gain hands-on experience delivering solutions that meet business requirements. This internship provides exposure to cloud technologies, modern development practices, and enterprise systems while contributing to real projects in a secure government contracting environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing cloud technologies and architectural styles, including microservices and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS EKS)
- Support AWS GovCloud services that power SAP BTP CRE and other NS2 cloud solutions
- Learn deployment and orchestration tools like Helm and Terraform under guidance from senior team members
- Participate in infrastructure automation projects using Ansible and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Contribute to web development projects using modern technology stacks
- Support the enhancement of enterprise applications, particularly within SAP systems
- Gain exposure to modern data processing technologies, including non-SQL databases and data lakes
- Learn about modern SaaS platform concepts, integration patterns, and extensibility
- Participate in agile software delivery processes and learn industry-standard DevOps tools
- Assist with CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance
- Support the lifecycle management of systems and services
- Work on assigned tasks and contribute to team projects with guidance from mentors
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages and system development concepts
- Academic or project experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Basic understanding of or interest in container technologies like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices
- Interest in DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD concepts
- Exposure to security best practices and configuration management
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Relevant coursework in cloud computing, software development, databases, or systems administration
- Academic projects, internships, or personal projects demonstrating technical skills
- Participation in hackathons, coding competitions, or open-source contributions is a plus
- Interest in enterprise software systems and cloud architectures
- Awareness of government cloud environments and compliance requirements
- Curiosity about SaaS platforms and integration technologies
