Salary:  $82,000 - $85,000 / year

Job Summary

As the Assistant General Manager at Rhodes College, you will support the General Manager in leading all aspects of dining operations, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction within budgetary guidelines. You will focus on operational excellence, safety, compliance, and team development while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily operations including food service, sanitation, and safety standards.

• Assist in budgeting, cost controls, and inventory management.

• Hire, train, and mentor frontline and management staff.

• Lead by example to maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, and campus partners.

• Oversee purchasing, food production, and menu planning in coordination with culinary leadership.

• Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and local health regulations.

• Implement programs that drive employee engagement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• 5–7 years of progressive experience in upscale food service, with at least 1 year in multi-unit or high-volume management.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in large-scale catering operations is strongly preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of food management systems a plus.

• ServSafe or similar food safety certification is a plus.
