Job Description
HOURS - 10:00 am - 6:30 pm
Essential Job functions:
Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization policies and procedures. May act as a preceptor.
Sterilizes instruments, equipment, and supplies using autoclaves and sterilizers.
Ensures that all broken instruments are repaired and all dull instruments are sharpened by the proper vendor in a timely fashion.
Ensures proper preventive maintenance is performed on all equipment used.
Operates washer/disinfector, sterilizers, scope washers and other relevant equipment. Maintains manufacturer’s guidelines for equipment.
Stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas.
Maintains QM/TI monitoring of packages sterilized to ensure proper procedures are utilized.
Effectively communicates and interacts with staff, physicians, patients and public.
Provides inventory sheets for sets.
General Job functions:
Demonstrates knowledge of the center’s budget by reducing waste and ensuring cost containment.
Assist in the picking of cases for the day as needed.
Works in soiled, clean and GI reprocessing utility rooms using proper personal protection equipment.
Demonstrates safe work habits with a concern for patients and staff.
Promotes a good image of the center to the patients, visitors and others.
Participates in training as needed and attends staff meetings as required.
Maintains knowledge of the center’s emergency preparedness procedures.
Attends to personal phone calls and other personal matters during break.
Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPPA and other regulating governance as required.
Other job duties as required.
