Job Description:
TransMedics is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist with a proven track record of processing high quality accounts receivable transactions through reliable procedures, processes and systems. A strong technical background and experience in AR accounting is required. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring leadership expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a focus on operational excellence to ensure timely and accurate AR operations that support the company’s financial health.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of accounts receivable operations, including collections and cash application processes.
- Manage the collections process, partnering with customers and internal stakeholders to address outstanding balances and resolve disputes promptly.
- Monitor AR aging reports and other KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate with customers to request payment, research and reconcile account discrepancies, and update accounts as needed.
- Develop and document efficient and repeatable processes and procedures for the reconciliation of AR accounts.
- Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on billing, payment terms, and customer account management.
- Drive automation and process improvements in AR operations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Prepare and present AR reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics and actionable recommendations.
- Support audits and other corporate initiatives by providing AR-related documentation and insights.
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork as needed.
- Proactively seek to continuously improve processes to achieve greater efficiencies and control, leveraging industry best practices.
- Perform other TransMedics tasks, duties and projects as assigned.
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of AR accounting experience
- Excellent knowledge of AR processes, controls and best practices in a public company environment
- Demonstrated track record of keen attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with excellent customer-facing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly reliable and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong organizational skills, able to calmly manage multiple competing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with manufacturing, medical devices, and/or hi-tech would be a plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology industry.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and automation in AR functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
