The Institutional /Policy Analyst (Deputy Title IX Coordinator’s) primary duty is to ensure the University of Hawai’i at Hilo is in compliance with its obligations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 by responding to allegations of sex and gender-based discrimination allegations, implementing supportive measures, and overseeing the complaint process as outlined in the University of Hawaii’s Administrative Procedures. The Institutional /Policy Analyst (Deputy Title IX Coordinator) is also responsible for providing training on student and employee rights and responsibilities under Title IX.
Duties and Responsibilities (* denotes essential functions)
- *Serve as the campus's principal coordinator responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures, and programs relating to Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act as it pertains to sex and gender-based discrimination.
- *Serve as the designated individual for reports/complaints of sex and gender-based discrimination and coordinate the campus's effective response to such reports/complaints.
- *Determine and implement appropriate interim measures and provide appropriate resources to address allegations of sex and gender-based discrimination.
- *Coordinate and manage formal complaints of sex and gender-based discrimination, from intake to investigations to hearing, decision and sanction or through an informal resolution, as applicable.
- *Develop, oversee, and coordinate the delivery of campus-wide education, training, and outreach programming for students, faculty, and staff related to Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act.
- *Collaborate with the Prevention Educator to conduct training and raise awareness of university policies and procedures as well as student and employee rights and responsibilities.
- *Monitor impact of programming effectiveness and identify campus needs.
- *Collaborate with campus security, and other on and off campus units to create and maintain incident reports as required under Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act, as appropriate
- *Conduct campus-based trend analysis and collaborate with UH System Office of Institutional Equity regarding campus climate surveys.
- *Develop related brochures, training materials on Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act as it relates to sex and gender-based discrimination, and update the campus website.
