Position Description:
The Production Control Specialist role is responsible for ensuring that all materials are moved and tracked for eventual issuance to production and/or engineering operations and/or to the next job location to meet published schedules. Performs shop order and shipping support tasks in ERP. Resolves potential problems to ensure material flow is not delayed.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor material pickup points, last activity locations, review router to determine where parts go to next, and ensure parts are delivered to appropriate locations.
- Expedite material flow through the shop floor by working collaboratively with production, engineering and quality teams.
- Effectively communicate the status of deliverables, actions, and issues to stakeholders in various forums.
- Process shop order splits.
- Assist in ERP data integrity endeavors.
- Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities affecting the planning, procurement, build and test process.
- Any additional tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- HSD or GED equivalent required.
- Experience with processing planning and/or movement of material within an ERP system required.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with ability to get tasks accomplished on time.
- Basic understanding of production flow, shipping/receiving operations, and/or stock room processes.
- Organized, capable of multitasking and setting priorities.
- Detail oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Must be a US Citizen.
This position is located at our Black Mountain NC facility. Relocation assistance is not available.
