This job advertisement is for master's level clinicians (M.A. or M.S. in Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related graduate level field of study that required both classroom training and supervised practicum experiences with real world patients) to provide clinical assessment and treatment services to adults in the Civil Units of the 1100+ bed Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee. Pending consideration of training and demonstrated proficiency, some master's level clinicians in the civil units may be designated by the Chief Psychologist to perform limited forensic psychological screenings and assessments. The patient population comprises men and women committed for inpatient treatment under Florida's forensic (i.e., Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and Incompetent to Proceed/Stand Trial) and civil commitment statutes.  Strong preference will be given to applicants who can document supervised experience delivering psychological testing and therapy to adult,  mental health inpatients in a multidisciplinary team setting. The job position may involve supervision of undergraduate or master's level trainees in psychology and related fields as assigned by the Chief Psychologist. Applicants should obtain an authorized transcript showing the receipt of the master's degree from their graduate school to be used if they advance to the interview phase.
