Job Description

The Executive Director for the Integrated Logistics Procurement & Sourcing Organization will oversee a portfolio exceeding $750 million at a global level, encompassing the Animal Health, Human Health, Manufacturing, and Research & Development Divisions. This role entails leading a high-performing team of 14 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and resilience to adapt to industry changes.

Key responsibilities include ensuring a seamless supply of critical medicines through our supplier network while navigating diverse regulatory landscapes and country-specific routes to market.

As a member of the Manufacturing Supply Chain Leadership team, as well as the Energy, Environmental Sustainability, and Integrated Logistics Procurement & Sourcing Organization team, the Executive Director will collaborate across leadership to develop procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s vision.This position will drive strategic procurement and sourcing initiatives to optimize the supply chain, ensuring the reliable and timely delivery of medicines to patients. The Executive Director will also focus on developing a pathway to net-zero emissions in collaboration with supply chain partners, emphasizing environmental sustainability in procurement and logistics processes.

Furthermore, this role will co-lead the Environmental Sustainability Strategic Pillar for the Manufacturing Supply Chain organization. The Executive Director will manage key challenges, including supplier relationship management, risk mitigation through robust business continuity plans, and responding to geopolitical and economic fluctuations. Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential to delivering patient solutions while enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the objective of never losing a dose.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Participate actively as a senior leader at the Manufacturing Supply Chain and Energy, Environmental Sustainability and Integrated Logistics Procurement & Sourcing Organization Leadership teams.

• Strategic Alignment: Align procurement strategies with the multifaceted objectives of our company's diverse divisions — Manufacturing, R&D, Global Human Health, and Animal Health — ensuring the seamless availability of resources to support production, commercialization and R&D initiatives across all regions.

• Global Strategy Development:

  • Lead the creation and execution of global strategies and supplier performance metrics for distribution services supporting over $60 billion in sales, while leveraging partnerships with industry leaders worldwide.

  • Develop comprehensive strategies across logistics sub-categories, ensuring that implementation plans incorporate elements of Business Diversity and Environmental Sustainability, in alignment with the company’s overarching ambitions.

• Risk Management: Develop and enforce risk mitigation plans and strategies to guarantee efficient and timely deliveries to customers and patients across each country/ division.

• Leadership in Sourcing: Provide strategic leadership in creating and executing sourcing strategies, category management, and supplier performance management to deliver sustainable value for the organization.

• Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for executing collaborative strategies with Supply Chain organizations, including supplier relationship management, to promote continuous improvement in operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation across the global supply chain.

• Process Evaluation and Optimization: Evaluate and enhance logistics and procurement processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices while driving initiatives toward net-zero emissions and heightened environmental sustainability.

• Cost Management Initiatives: Achieve cost control, reduction, and containment objectives across multiple procurement categories through proactive management strategies.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish and lead cross-functional teams across all divisions to design and implement breakthrough strategies that deliver both quick wins and significant innovations in purchasing.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
