Metals USA is seeking a Quality & Safety Manager for our Grand Rapids/Walker, MI location. Metals USA is a leading metals processor/distributor in North America, providing a wide range of carbon steel products and services. RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALITY:
- Oversee the Quality Management System to assure compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard
- Manage calibration of all test equipment
- Report monthly on quality-related metrics
- Coordinate customer claims by determining merit, investigating root causes, authorizing disposition, and coordinating return of material and final disposition
- Oversee reporting of relevant customer data including Reach, RoHS, Prop-65, Conflict Minerals, and USMCA (NAFTA).
- Review new products and assist in the development of customer specifications
- Assist in process improvement/development projects
SAFETY:
- Leading Weekly Safety Meetings
- Leading our Safety Committee
- Inspect Facilities and work areas for hazardous conditions
- Work with employees and management team to identify hazards and use problem-solving skills to reduce or eliminate risks
- Manage or develop processes for safe production and handling of materials
- Lead incident investigations
- Verify compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
- Continuous Improvement tasks such as evaluating processes and equipment to determine changes to reduce risk or improve quality of production.
- Coordination and leadership to be up to date on all Reliance Safety Requirements and Procedures
MANAGER:
- Evaluate process and product performance
- Ensure policies are understood and upheld
- Supervise internal corrective action system and respond to customer initiated correct action requests

Qualifications- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college is preferred but not required
- Experience in a safety and/or quality role
- Experience with ISO-9001:2015 Standards
- Understanding of Lean Management Principles
