Sr engineering/construction accountant

Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (EDT) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering/Construction Accountant to join our team. As a leading engineering and design firm, we specialize in providing innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all accounting functions related to engineering and construction projects. We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical individual with strong knowledge of engineering and construction accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of project accounting, including project setup, budgeting, billing, and cost tracking
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
• Analyze project financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Participate in project cost reviews and provide recommendations for cost control
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering or construction accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
