Position Description
Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of middleware integration platforms that support enterprise-wide business applications at UNS Energy companies. This role is responsible for the architecture, development, and operational support of multiple middleware environments—including MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Oracle SOA Suite, and API-led integration frameworks.

Position-Related Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement API-led integration flows using MuleSoft and Oracle SOA to connect legacy and cloud-based systems.
- Maintain and optimize middleware platforms including WebLogic, RabbitMQ, and OpenShift Runtime Fabric (RTF).
- Lead migration efforts from Oracle SOA to MuleSoft, ensuring minimal disruption and improved operational efficiency.
- Oversee the development and deployment of reusable APIs, system APIs, and process APIs to support modular and scalable integration.
- Support legacy systems while driving modernization initiatives across the middleware landscape.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements, define integration strategies, and deliver high-impact solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshooting middleware performance, ensuring high availability and resilience.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for middleware operations and API governance.
- Preferred Skills and Technologies
- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Oracle SOA Suite, OSB, BPEL, Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- API Manager, DataWeave, JMS, HTTP(S), XML/XSLT, Java, Python.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, hybrid deployments, and container orchestration.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Integration & API Associate
- Oracle WebLogic 12c Administrator
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Minimum Qualifications (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
Minimum 15 years of experience in Information Technology with demonstrated experience in programming, project management, requirements definition, program development and systems design.
Demonstrated ability to lead large project teams or serve as a project Technical Lead.
Good understanding of the business processes supported.
Participates in an IT Professional Organization.
Demonstrated ability to prepare reports that identify trends and make the appropriate recommendations or conclusions for improvement
Detailed understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Preferred Qualifications
7 years of experience with products and functionality in chosen technology track.
6 or more years of successful project management experience
Excellent understanding of systems integration and Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles.
