Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to our Head of Natural Gas and Carbon Research, your day-to-day role will include:
- Direct research team covering key US ISO markets (PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, ISONE, CAISO, MISO and SPP) to forecast power market supply and demand fundamentals and market prices.
- Analyse and research key market topics and policy drivers to draw forward looking, market focused conclusions.
- Deliver service products in a timely manner (monthly Outlook, regular research alerts and insights, price forecasts)
- Interact with clients on a formal and informal basis to present research, garner feedback, and improve the service product.
- Design, develop and implement new data and research to continuously improve the product for clients.
- Maintain research team’s commercial focus to drive revenue growth.
- Work cross-functionally to share knowledge and insights to support natural gas, emissions, and energy transition research teams.
About You:
- The Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Deep understanding of US power markets and the fundamental and policy drivers that will impact their evolution.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience of building and maintaining fundamental power models and forecasting power prices
- Ability to prioritise conflicting demands while meeting key deliverables.
- Ability to coach and guide team members to produce better analysis.
- Willingness to ‘take a view’ based on the research conducted.
- Willingness to do research (“get your hands dirty”) and create content for publication.
