Course Number and Name: PMU251-451Y1 Piano-Instrumental Master Class

 

Course Description: An exploration of the piano chamber literature, especially that for piano and one other instrument. Pianists prepare and perform with student instrumentalists.

 

Class Schedule: Section 1: Tuesdays 1-2pm, Section 2: Tuesdays 2-3pm

September 2024 to April 2025

 

Salary: $9,457.90 per section

 

Estimated Course Enrollment: 6–8 per section

 

TA support: None

 

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in piano performance. Active piano performance career, including experience as a chamber musician. Demonstrated excellence teaching piano and chamber music at the university level.

 

Duties: Define course objectives; prepare course materials; provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations; teach classes as scheduled; administer and evaluate student assignments; prepare and submit final grade in accordance with policy. Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
