The overall purpose of this position is to act as a Business Partner managing, controlling and reporting on the financial and operational performance of the business and different entities in an accurate and timely manner, while supervising and enforcing the financial controls within the business and providing financial analysis to facilitate strategic decision making.

In this role you will report to the Head of Finance & Operations and work closely in a team of 6 colleagues.

Role Purpose

The reporting of financial and operational performance and the management & supervision of the daily accounting processes.

Senior Controller (MV/X) Fulltime, Leeuwarden

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Controller will be responsible for our Financial Controller activities in Leeuwarden. In this role you are responsible for the following tasks:

Controlling

To control and reconcile all balances within the balance sheet.
To provide analysis of financial and operating performance and to develop financial and operational reporting as required.
To prepare budgets and forecasts in line with business and Group requirements.
To supervise and control the interface of information between financial and other business systems.
Review and development of financial and business systems.
To identify any potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures
Maintain financial controls within the business.

Reports

Reports regularly to Head of Finance on all financial aspects when it comes to the entities supported by the Finance team in Leeuwarden.
Presents reports, status, etc. on a bi-weekly basis
Prepares and distributes monthly financial management accounts.
Prepares and submit financial information to Huhtamaki Group.

Management tasks

To install, promote and maintain working relationships with all levels in the organization and entities.
To recognize and develop appropriate staff training and to offer support and assessment of staff undertaking and / or skills development
In collaboration with the Head of Finance, prepare the performance reviews and appraisals in accordance with company procedure.
Manage and coach staff within the Controller team

Other Responsibilities

Have a good knowledge and understanding of the Company’s disciplinary and grievance procedures and were acting under these guidelines be able to provide supporting evidence.
Adhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act in respect of confidentiality and disclosure of personal data
To be aware and to adhere to all Company polices at all times

To prepare and supervise the submission of information to statutory
To assist with the preparation of statutory financial information.

Qualifications and skills

Strong educational background with good university degree in finance, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Able to work methodically with attention to detail

Systematic, analytical and organised

Organisational proficiency and ability to balance multiple tasks and ability to meet deadlines,
Sound judgement and decision-making skills,
Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport at all levels of the organisation,
Highly motivated and able to build close relationships internally and externally
