Job Description


Are you interested in learning more about the book selling process and supporting two key national accounts? Join the Penguin Random House National Retail Accounts sales team as Sales Assistant! The Sales Assistant will provide sales and general administrative support to the Sales Director and National Account Managers who sell and promote titles across the wide range of Penguin Random House imprints to two national bookstore accounts, Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. 

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain, track, and assess sales data and run daily sales reports.
  • Prepare Edelweiss collections and selling materials.
  • Create seasonal and ad-hoc PowerPoint presentations.
  • Communicate with various internal departments to obtain sales materials. 
  • Coordinate the placing, fulfilling, and tracking of orders.
  • Perform general administrative duties for the department, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, etc.

Qualifications


  • Prior retail experience; bookstore experience a plus
  • Strong interest in sales and publishing 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time 
  • Superb analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel and PowerPoint 

Additional Information


The salary for this position is $55,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.   

 

This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
