Food Services Assistant-Utility

Job Summary:

Performs various food service tasks, including food preparation, serving, dishwashing, and food transportation. Provides excellent customer service and may operate a cash register.

Education & Experience:

• Required: High school enrollment, diploma, or GED
• Preferred: Experience in food service or customer service

Licensure & Certification:

• Not required

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensures food quality, recipe compliance, and adherence to guidelines.
2. Meets productivity and service start-time schedules.
3. Minimizes waste and follows portion control guidelines.
4. Properly uses and maintains kitchen equipment and supplies.
5. Provides excellent customer service and maintains high standards.
6. Follows sanitation policies to maintain a high health department rating.
7. Adheres to workplace safety and sanitation regulations.
8. Completes required training, including compliance and safety courses.
9. Works as a team player and supports other food service departments.
10. Safely delivers and retrieves food trays while following proper protocol.
11. Interacts professionally with patients, visitors, and staff, resolving concerns as needed.
12. Follows hospital policies and contributes to a positive work environment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to department needs
• Strong customer service skills
• Comfortable interacting with patients in their rooms
• Available to work weekends and holidays
• Effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff

Work Environment:

• Work in kitchen and retail areas
• Exposure to wet floors and sharp equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Lifting/pushing up to 50 lbs.
