As a Dermatology Medical Assistant, you will serve as a key member of our clinical team, ensuring that our patients receive compassionate and efficient care. Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are prepared and available.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Schedule patient appointments and effectively handle office communications.
- Educate patients regarding treatment options, medications, and skincare regimens.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical role is beneficial.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dermatology.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software is advantageous.
