Dermatology Medical Assistant (MVL)

QualDerm Partners is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team in the Martinsville, VA location (MVL). As a Dermatology Medical Assistant, you will serve as a key member of our clinical team, ensuring that our patients receive compassionate and efficient care. Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are prepared and available.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Schedule patient appointments and effectively handle office communications.
• Educate patients regarding treatment options, medications, and skincare regimens.
• Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked with supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical role is beneficial.
• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dermatology.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective interactions with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software is advantageous.
