Job Description

Your team:

Join our Global Human Resources team in Berlin as Head of HR for Avaloq Sourcing Europe (based in Germany) and our Global Banking Operations function. You will be reporting directly to the Global Head of Human Resources, manage the local HR Team and set the HR agenda and priorities for our German entities as well as be part of the local leadership team.

Avaloq counts 3 offices in Germany (Berlin, Leipzig and Düsseldorf) and around 300 employees working in our key business areas such as Banking Operations, Product Management and Development, Project Delivery and Sales. Our Global Banking Operations business area has employee presence in APAC and Europe.

Your mission:

You will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the people initiatives in the country, ensuring local compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to talent acquisition, growth, engagement, development and retention both from a regional perspective and a global perspective for the Banking Operations function. Set the people priorities in line with the company and HR strategies, Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the administration and provides support and advice to line managers on human resource programs including, but not limited to culture, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, culture, occupational health and safety; and training and development. Administer some of these programs along the team when and where needed.
  • Manage the local HR Team and provide support and guidance to HR operations, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise
  • Collaborate with your different counterparts locally and globally, including external providers, Private Medical Suppliers, Pension Providers and develop a strong relationship with our local Workers Council and establish a positive collaboration on relevant topics.
  • Coordinates and participates in process optimization and automation tasks
  • Manage and/or participate in different (global) projects and employer branding and HR marketing events

Qualifications

What you need:

To perform well in this role you should be able to easily connect with people, have experience as an HR Advisor/HR Manager to senior leaders, good knowledge around all legal requirements as well as team management experience.

  • Bachelor or Master in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Strong extensive experience of successful delivery in human resource management with sound knowledge of German labour regulations
  • Experience in leading a small HR team, working closely with a German Workers Council and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and German.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with fantastic organizational, time management and attention to detail skills.
  • People oriented and results driven with strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. With experience of HRIS and talent management systems.
