About the Position

In this role, you will...

• Perform skilled work in construction, remodeling, and repair maintenance of county parks and facilities. 

• Perform playground inspections and complete corrective repairs. Including restroom cleaning, picking up trash, policing grounds, pressure cleaning, boardwalk inspections, and other tasks. 

• Keep accurate records and coordinate playground preventative maintenance work, and define working priorities.

• Concrete planning, layout, and formation to include, but not limited to, footers, foundations, floors and sidewalks, playground equipment, and associated walks and surface material.

• Record and compile data, including materials management and life cycle planning, using manual or computerized devices to create and complete work orders and maintenance records. 

• Manage multiple work orders at the same time; ensure completion in a timely fashion. General knowledge of the Maximo work management system.

• Plan and apply for building permits, right-of-way use permits, and inspections. Basic knowledge of GIS as it relates to site plans required for permitting.  Plan and call for utility locates.

• Perform lead worker duties per the directives of the operational manager.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:

• Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

• Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

• As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or its equivalent

• Three (3) years of experience, education, training, or any combination with concrete and/or carpentry experience. 

• Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire.

Starting Pay Range: $22.14/hr (Step 1)
