Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$120,400.00 - $198,700.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking a Director, Agile Product Owner (APO) to join our organization to lead a team to deliver capabilities/solutions in an agile way. In this position you will act as a voice of the end-user to guide day-to-day work of a cross-functional team, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed. This individual will help drive the creation and maintenance of a cyber data asset that incorporates submissions, policies, claims, scan and other related data across all business units that underwrite cyber, such as Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI), Business Insurance (BI) and International.

What Will You Do?

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap 

    • Define work for a cross-functional product team, focusing on delivering business value quickly and iteratively  

    • Act as voice of the end-user by developing a deep understanding of user needs and pain points. Anticipate and proactively seek customer feedback ensuring needs and requirements are clearly defined; ensure team’s work product meets defined acceptance criteria. 

    • Translate business strategies and needs into a roadmap for the product team; define team goals and strategy, ensuring alignment with business strategy; Articulate team goals, strategy and roadmap effectively to key stakeholders, Circle Leads, and team members. 

    Requirements Definition 

    • Structure and conduct analyses to inform the definition of requirements and prioritization of work based on quantified business value. Make prioritization recommendations, supported by analysis and data, to product team and stakeholders 

    • Build proof-of-concepts and prototypes by modeling analyses and transformations desired by end users to de-risk delivery by demonstrating feasibility and user need 

    • Gather requirements from end users, consumers (e.g., operational systems) and data producers to map and define data, along with necessary transformations, from various source systems into a common understanding for the cyber data asset 

    • Effectively manage a backlog of deliverables and capabilities as well as 'test and learn'/experimentation targeted at defining/refining future deliverables, measuring performance and adjusting the overall roadmap of deliverables as needed. 

    Team and Stakeholder Management 

    • Own team backlog, including prioritization and refinement; Make trade-off decisions to maximize value. 

    • Hold the product team
