Job Overview:

CouMall team is looking for a Sr Staff Backend Engineer to bring the CouMall CRM and D2C model to next level.

Seller shop solution is the core element for brand sellers to be successful on Coupang. CouMall provides seller with the full e-commerce tools includes shop with many sub areas: dynamic product listing and products recommendation, in-shop search, shop recommendation and discovery, rich content, CRM, Offsite integration, analytics and etc.

We are looking for candidate could lead the CRM and Discovery domain. Design/propose new architecture considering the end-to-end process of the application in charge of, in order to connect both sellers and consumers on Coupang platform and make value contributions for both parties. Keep evolving and optimize performance through machine learning and other AI technologies.

What You Will do:

We are looking for passionate senior leader to build highly scalable, low latency online systems. You will be working on the full cycle of CRM, CouMall onsite & offsite discovery domain; Machine learning technologies and systems to power and enhance our services. You are responsible for success of low latency, highly available, large-scale news, and recommendation systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or electrical/electronic engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 7+ years of solid work with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems
• 7+ years of coding experience in Java, Go, C++ or other strong types coding languages
• Hands-on experience in leading team to build large scale real-time service
• Successful experience of building rule based model

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years experience with handling large data volumes in a distributed environment.
• Senior tech leader for E2E business area delivery. Self motived and self driving. Can influence without authority, and work with product manager, front end engineer, ranking engineer to build new systems.
• Rich experience with service-oriented architecture and web application/services development
• Rich experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)
• Successful experience in building machine learning applications and systems including but not limited to ads, search and recommendation systems
• Successful experience in build GBDT, two tower and etc popular ML models

Pay & Benefits   

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.  

The base pay for this position ranges from $159,000 / year in our lowest geographic market to $324,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
