Job Description Summary
This position reports to an Engineer in the Field Assurance Department. This department is responsible for fielding of customer complaints about products. The complaints may come from patients, health care providers including physicians, nurses, or other health care staff. This department investigates the root cause of failure from an engineering perspective.This internship will be responsible for helping to process customer complaints, aiding in the investigation of root cause analysis, and will assist with engineering activities including, but not limited to: collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing reports.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

Assist with processing of customer complaints
Aid in root cause analysis of failed products
Support various engineering activities such as collection of data, data analysis, and preparing reports
Apply engineering principles
Identify and take ownership of tasks and projects
Be detail oriented and results oriented
Work as a team and independently
Potential assignments in both Sandy and Salt Lake City
Potential Task Assignments within the scope of this position
Assists in failure investigations, complaint evaluations, and review of quality documents.
Writes and reviews reports and data.
Assists in evaluation of used medical devices in a biohazard lab setting.
Trains on, understands, and follows company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Aids in developing physical and functional test requirements to assure specifications & regulations are met.
Initiates new or revised documentation and tracks through appropriate approval cycles and implementation
Participates in and provides input to training on department and division procedures and policies.
Maintains a professional working relationship with internal & external customer and support staff
Participates on cross-functional teams.
Prepares and presents oral and written project updates and technical discussions.

Basic technical writing skills

Demonstrated comprehension of basic descriptive statistics

Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University/College Science or Engineering program (required).
