Summary
A Cage Cashier manages financial transactions for casino guests with precision, speed and professionalism. The position includes exchanging currency, processing gaming chips, keeping accurate transaction records and adhering to all gaming regulations and internal controls. Cage Cashiers are essential to safeguarding the casino’s financial operations while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Safeguards company assets by following Cage policies and procedures, ensuring accurate handling of cash and transactions. Responsibilities include detailed processing of currency, coins, foreign exchange, gaming chips, gaming and purchase tickets, credit cards and cash advances, checks, markers, and promotional payouts with precision.
Records all required transactions for gaming guest accounts to ensure Title 31 compliance. Regularly updates accounts to maintain adherence to regulations, supporting financial integrity and casino compliance with federal standards.
Manages entrusted funds by accurately balancing chips and financial paperwork after each shift. Reports any discrepancies immediately to management.
Inspects all currency and financial instruments for counterfeits or fraud. Examines bills, coins, and negotiable items to confirm authenticity and reports suspicious findings to management.
Completes all required cage operation documentation accurately, following internal controls and casino policies. Transaction details must be recorded and managed to meet regulatory standards and processes tax reporting forms as needed, ensuring compliance and clear records of all taxable activities at the cage.
Adheres to all gaming, legal, and audit regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Title 31, to maintain casino integrity and ensure compliant financial transactions.
Provides exceptional guest service through polite, professional communication and a friendly attitude. Maintains high standards in appearance and creating a welcoming atmosphere ensuring guests feel comfortable and appreciated.
Supports co-workers with essential tasks as needed, helping operations run efficiently and contributing to department success.
Follows attendance rules, work scheduled shifts and comply with all policies to maintain a dependable workplace.
Serves as a role model by upholding Cache Creek Casino Resort's professional standards, setting a positive example for colleagues, and promoting a culture of excellence through professional conduct.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); must have 6 months of high-volume cash handling experience. Must be able to enter data, read and interpret output from computer. Must have excellent guest and human relations skills. Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must be willing to learn all phases of cage activity.
Age Requirement
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with guests and other employees. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
