SCRUM MASTER

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a SCRUM Master, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Department of War. You will play a crucial role in facilitating scrum events, removing blockers, and enabling the team with Agile practices for high-quality delivery.

Job Description:

  • Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team

  • Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events

  • Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management

  • Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories that are clearly articulated with well-defined acceptance criteria

  • Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs

  • Assist with internal and external communication

  • Assist product owners with backlog grooming

  • Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition

  • Determine and remove impediments that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals

  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution

  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity

  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your software development expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The SCRUM Master must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience

  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and /or software/application development processes

  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically, JIRA and Confluence

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 5+ years of SCRUM master experience working within the DoW or IC Community

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
