Accountant – Agency Accounting Support

The Agency Accounting Support - Accountant is responsible for contributing to all aspects of accounting, internal controls and financial reporting oversight for Guardian’s 70+ independent and company owned agencies.  Responsibilities include supervisory review of deliverables prepared by on and offshore accounting teams.

You will

• Review financial statements for compliance with company requirements.

• Assist with researching Financial Statement variances and trends.

• Perform analytical review of aged payables, receivables, bank reconciliation etc.

• Identify and research sources of cash deficiency and unusual payment activity.

• Collaborate with agencies and the internal audit department to remediate audit report recommendations.

• Prepare and / or review Year End 1099 tax reporting schedules and coordinating filings with the company’s tax department.

• Supervise review and follow ups for deliverables prepared by on and offshore accounting teams.

• Assist with oversight for company owned agency accountant’s compliance with expense reimbursement policies.

• Develop a deep understanding of agency accounting operations to provide accounting support to agencies

• Identify and assist with implementation of opportunities to automate and enhance processes.

You have

• Accounting Bachelor’s Degree

• 2+ years of applicable accounting experience.

• Understanding of  financial control procedures.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Problem solving and analytical skills.

• Adapt to and work effectively in a changing environment.

• Ability and willingness to collaborate and improve processes.

• Ability to manage priorities and accountable for meeting deadlines.

• Curiosity and drive to pursue personal development.

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or small business accounting software is a plus.

• Insurance industry knowledge is a plus

Salary Range

$68,020.00 - $102,025.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
