The Associate Technical Project Manager at Skydance Animation will be responsible for requirements gathering, scoping, scheduling, budgeting, tracking, delivering, resource management, and reporting of projects within technology.  The ATPM will work with other members of the technology department to provide effective communication to and from Technology, Production teams, and other studio departments.  In addition, the Technology department provides a wide range of services, including IT infrastructure, software development, production pipeline engineering, technical support, and oversight of collaboration and presentation spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-team technology projects from inception through completion, collaborating with multi-show and on-show technical leads to develop actionable and measurable deliverable plans including requirements, schedules, budgets, resource planning and acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate internal task and project planning sessions, including daily standups, requirements gathering, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with production, studio counterparts, and external animation production vendors
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management best practices, processes, and tools to improve studio efficiency
  • Present updates on projects to leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Prepare meeting agendas and written reports/meeting minutes to keep stakeholders and project participants in the loop

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical project coordinator or project manager role
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day tasks of diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to connect, influence, and drive others to consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present status, blockers, and next steps of projects to multiple disparate audiences
  • Experience with documentation and ticketing software, i.e. Atlassian Confluence and Jira
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle paradigms, i.e. Waterfall and Agile Scrum
  • Proven ability to monitor and manage solutions through delivery
  • Excellent communication skills in all areas
  • Experience in the Visual Effects, Animation, or media and entertainment industries a plus
  • Certified Scrum Master a plus
The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $70,000 - 100,000.  The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors.  The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
