JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking a candidate for an Administrative Support Assistant for the Graduate Programs. The Administrative Support Assistant will be a detailed oriented and organized individual who will provide direct administrative and professional support. This position will perform complex tasks with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide administrative support to three graduate programs in the department and work closely with three graduate directors.
Manage the graduate admissions process; communicate with applicants, prepare application information for the graduate committees, maintain student files; schedule, track, and coordinate exams with the Graduate School; use LionPATH to perform academic actions for students and faculty.
Maintain department student records; collect data and process information for fellowship nominations and awards; organize/attend orientation for new graduate students to the department; track progress of required training for graduate students.
Maintain the graduate programs portion of the department website, various databases, listservs, and updates to the department graduate handbook.
Process assistantship appointments and assignments in WorkLion.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
Education and Experience:
This position will be filled as a level 3 and typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
