The Work You Will Do:
Environmental Specialist IV in ISD / PLEMO
Evaluates and recommends resource information and budget needs to management related to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) environmental program at the district or central office level. Manages the district Asbestos Program. Oversees staff in the development/implementation of inspections, periodic surveillance, monitoring operation and maintenance plans. Responsible for the regulatory notification of response actions for activities that are planned or in progress for district owned facilities. Reviews Asbestos Survey Reports and operation and maintenance plans for technical sufficiency and regulatory compliance. Oversees assignments, reviews progress, and assesses performance of programs related to environmental issues or resources in support of program managers or other functional area managers. Performs professional administrative duties, utilizing consultants and in-house staff to resolve contamination issues for the district.
