(Senior) Research Associate, Proteomics

Position Summary: 

FL94 is seeking a motivated (Sr) Research Associate to join the proteomics team. In this role you will be a critical member of a team responsible for establishing and integrating state of the art chemical proteomics technologies and workflows across all functions within the protein editing platform. Successful candidates will be able to thrive in a lab-based role, as a motivated member of a face-paced team. The individual will have demonstrated evidence of rapidly understanding and achieving expertise in new technologies, while supporting multiple functions. They will be interested in contributing at the bench and be dedicated to scientific development of themselves and their team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Establish data quality workflows to ensure the maximum throughput of high-fidelity data from the state-of-the-art chemical proteomics platform 
• Maintain and develop innovative, robust automation capabilities using existing hardware platforms (e.g. Bravo liquid handling) for cell prep and MS analysis 

• Ensure rapid and accurate turnaround of data to drive achievement of key project goals 
• Work with biology, biochemistry and compound management teams to troubleshoot and optimize screening high value targets 

The successful candidate will have all the following skills necessary to perform in a fast-paced, purposeful, highly integrated, and pioneering environment 

• B.S. or M.S. in analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry or other related fields with 0-3+ years of experience in an industry setting  
• Required and demonstrable experiences with the following: 

1. • Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection techniques, and assessing small molecule-induced phenotypes  

• • Hands-on experience in 96-well plate-based cell and biochemical assays 

• Preferred additional experiences include the following: 

• • Experience operating, optimizing and troubleshooting automated liquid handlers 

• • Experience with various affinity-based enrichment assays (e.g. immunoprecipitations) and their subsequent analysis  

• • An understanding of LC-MS methods, principles and sample preparation 

• • Basic understanding of relevant concepts in disease biology, protein biochemistry, and a general understanding of chemical reactivity 

• A highly engaged, collaborative and goal/results-orientated style, capable of interfacing and delivering results for multiple functional leads 
• Outstanding decision making, organizational and analytical skills
