Construction Inspector (Frederick County, MD)

Job Summary:
Immediate Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to join our team in Frederick County, MD. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction sites, ensuring compliance with specifications, construction material placement, safety, and materials testing of soil and aggregate in the field.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 or more years of construction inspection experience, including water and sewer construction inspection, and at least 2 years of concrete and soil testing and inspection experience.
• ACI or WACEL Concrete Field Certification, and WACEL or MARTCP Soil Compaction Certification
• Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, and work outside in all weather conditions, and stand for long periods of time and traverse varying field conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and approved material sources of supply and County standards
• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Document and report inspection findings
• Identify and communicate any issues or deviations from plans to the appropriate parties
• Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide guidance
• Identify and communicate unsafe work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and related documentation in a timely manner
• Collect material test samples and perform QA testing of soils and aggregates, including compaction, bearing capacity, etc. and witness QC concrete field testing.
