The Role

The Tableau Development Lead, Vice President is a partner that understands how beneficial the effective usage of data visualization and dynamic dashboards can be to the success of planning and delivery. The Tableau Development Lead will help build a roadmap of data visualization efforts, develop and maintain complex data sets, generate business intelligence visualizations, collaborate with Agility partner areas to understand reporting/visualization opportunities, and drive overarching Agility and Portfolio metrics uplift to continuously adapt and evolve the organization. 

The Tableau Development Lead will be a part of the Card Ways of Working Team. The Card Ways of Working is a collection of Agility leaders who will partner with the Chase Card Services leaders and teams across Product, Technology, Design, and Data in improving delivery practices in a healthy and sustainable way. Our goal is to help the organization deliver more consistently and with higher quality while keeping a focus on customer needs and the employee experience. Agility is a means to this end, Agility is not the goal.

 

Responsibilities

• Own and effectively manage Agility and Portfolio Tableau dashboards for the Chase Card Services business
• Assemble large, complex data sets and perform statistical analysis on large data sets, leading to insights about improving the business, using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Jira, Align, etc.
• Working with varying business and technology partners, create a backlog and roadmap for the data visualization needs
• Take a business challenge, and develop a plan, query for necessary data, and recognize patterns/opportunities in the data
• Partner with Jira and Jira Align standards owners, and other data standards setting teams, to identify potential source data and new types of data needed to satisfy business asks 
• Show the ability to create large data sets in order to maximize the performance of Tableau dashboards
• Demonstrate technical expertise to interpret reports, analyze data and recommend solutions
• Recognize patterns and connections in information from different sources and show the ability to evaluate their business implications
• Communicate clearly with peers and managers on recommendations, improvements and initiatives 
• Work with peers to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the team
• Operate as an internal consultant to build relationships across the organization to gain deep understanding of stakeholder needs and collaboratively design ways the tools can be used to solve these problems

 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience within an enterprise product or technology environment
• 4+ years of experience in Tableau and Alteryx
• Knowledgeable in Jira and Jira Align for data analysis and dashboarding
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
• Ability to quickly understand, extract and manipulate unfamiliar data environments
• Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of Tableau workbooks
• Ability to create engaging customized content for varying audience types and needs
• Comprehension of scaled agile delivery frameworks and patterns preferred
